“Set and setting” are essential components of ketamine therapy. This means your mindset and environment before, during, and after treatment can have a significant impact on your experience and outcomes.

Mindbloom’s at-home ketamine therapy is more than medicine—it’s a combination of premium care, expertly-developed programs, and an encouraging community all delivered in the comfort of your home.

Our offerings include two routes of administration for at-home ketamine therapy:

  • Tablets: Small tablets that dissolve in your mouth
  • Injectables: An injection into your abdomen with a tiny needle.

Mental health isn’t one-size-fits-all. To help you choose the option that best suits your needs, we’ll compare these methods along with another common route of administration—IV (infusion) ketamine, typically provided in clinical settings.

IV Ketamine (infusion)

Administration:

Medicine is administered by a medical provider and injected directly into your bloodstream, providing the fastest onset. The needle stays in your arm throughout treatment.

Benefits:

  • Consistent: Fast absorption and precise bioavailability
  • Precise dosage control: IV administration allows for continuous control of the ketamine dose

Considerations:

  • Higher cost: Sessions often range from $500 to $2,000
  • Inconvenient: Requires traveling to a clinic and arranging for transportation afterward
  • Limited/no support: Most clinics focus solely on administering medicine and lack comprehensive integration programs that are crucial for maximizing therapeutic outcomes
  • Uncomfortable: For some clients, the sterile, medical nature of IV therapy can feel distracting or isolating, which may limit the depth of the healing process

Note: Mindbloom does not offer IV ketamine infusions.

Mindbloom Tablets

Administration:

You take the medicine by holding tablets between your cheeks and gums for 7 minutes without swallowing, then spit out the medicine. You should begin to feel the effects within 10-15 minutes.

Benefits:

  • Convenient: All sessions are conducted from the comfort of your home—being in a familiar, safe environment is key to unlocking the best outcomes
  • Affordable: 60% more affordable than IV infusions
  • Needle-free: Ideal for clients who prefer to avoid injections

Considerations:

  • Less consistent: While most clients see significant improvements in symptoms, some report inconsistent session intensity
  • Tablet aversion: Some clients report difficulty with the taste component of tablets and holding them in their mouth

Mindbloom Injectables

Administration:

Injectables use a tiny insulin needle to deliver the medicine under your skin. You should begin to feel effects within 5 minutes.

Benefits:

  • Convenient: All sessions are conducted from the comfort of your home—being in a familiar, safe environment is key to unlocking the best outcomes
  • Affordable: 60% more affordable than IV infusions
  • Consistent: Fast absorption and high bioavailability ensure a predictable experience session after session
  • Easy administration: 81% of clients who had tried both tablets and injectables reported preferring injectables

By combining injectables with our comprehensive, guided programs we’ve created the most effective and supportive ketamine therapy in the world. This approach offers the benefits of in-clinic IV ketamine with the comfort and convenience of at-home therapy.

Ketamine has been reported to produce issues including, but not limited to, those listed below. However, lasting adverse side-effects are rare when medical protocols are carefully followed.

While ketamine has not been shown to be physically addictive, it has been shown to cause moderate psychological dependency in some recreational users.

  • In rare cases, frequent, heavy users have reported increased frequency of urination, urinary incontinence, pain urinating, passing blood in the urine, or reduced bladder size
  • Ketamine may worsen problems in people with schizophrenia, severe personality disorders, or other serious mental disorders.
  • Users with a personal or family history of psychosis should be cautious using any psychoactive substance, including ketamine, and discuss potential risks with your MindBloom® clinician before proceeding with treatment.
  • The dissociative effects of ketamine may increase patient vulnerability and the risk of accidents.

To promote positive outcomes and ensure safety, follow these ketamine treatment guidelines:

  • Do not operate a vehicle (e.g., car, motorcycle, bicycle) or heavy machinery following treatment until you’ve had a full night of sleep
  • Refrain from taking benzodiazepines or stimulants for 24 hours prior to treatment
  • Continue to take antihypertensive medication as prescribed
